We flew to Chicago on Jan. 3 and stayed with son Christopher, wife Mary and Madison (6) and Jack (4) for two weeks in Lake Forest. Al and I got busy on our new years resolution to drop some pounds and tone up. Chris and Mary have a nice exercise room and we put it to good use each day while there. Jack was only in school half days so we had more play time with him but Maddie was quick to get her share when she got home from school. Grandma spent a lot of time in the Bounce House:-) We went to the Chicago boat show but found nothing to get excited about there. January 18-20 we drove to Wisconsin Dells Wilderness Waterpark Resort to have Christmas with the kids and grandkids.
We had great fun watching the kids have fun and playing along. On Saturday night we had our Christmas presents and then on Sunday we had Lucy's 2nd birthday party.
The next week we spent with Justin, Chris, Sara (4) and Lucy (2) in Chicago. We continued our exercise on their treadmill and walking the girls to nursery school. We had each of the girls home alone one day while the other went to school and Grandma volunteered in each of their classrooms for an hour another day.
We rented a car and drove back to Cottage Grove, Minnesota Jan. 25. to our son Patrick and Nicci's house. We've juggled our time this first week between visiting Al's mom and family, dentist, doctor appointments and playing with our 3 girls Josie (8), Emma (5) and Aleah (20 months). We keep Allie home with us each day that we can and pick her up early when we don't. Al's mom has had a tough month and is in a nursing home for rehab.
