S/V Artemis

SAILING EXPERIENCE

 

We  began sailing in 1983 on Lake Pepin in Pepin, WI and Lake City, Mn on our Cal 25 " Sal-Lyn". In 1986 we bought "Shenanigans" a 1977 Tartan 30 hull #505 and started sailing on Lake Superior. We own slip #193 at Port Superior Marina in Bayfield Wisconsin. In 1994 we purchased "Kolibri" a 1981 Tartan 37 hull #333. Finally in 2001 we bought "Artemis" a Mason 43 Ketch hull #81. We had great fun sailing with our three sons Justin, Patrick, and Christopher in the Apostle Islands, Bayfield Wisconsin,  our weekend sailing grounds for 20 years. Isle Royale and the Canadian Northshore to the Slate Islands and the White River was our annual vacation destinations. 

 

We left the US in 2006 sailing Artemis from St. John Newfoundland to Dingle, Ireland , wintering 2006 south of Rome, Italy in Nettuno. In 2007 we cruised Italy, Sicily, Croatia, Greece and Turkey wintering in Kemer, Turkey. 2008 we joined the EMYR (Eastern Med Yacht Rally) cruising, Turkey Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt and Jordan wintering in Kemer, Turkey. 2009 we cruised Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Ukraine wintering in Kemer, Turkey. 2010 we cruised Turkey, Greece, and Italy wintering in Netunno, Italy. 2011 we cruised Italy, Montenegro, Sardinia, Corisica, French Rivera, and Spain wintering in Barcelona, Spain. 2012 we left the Med and cruised Atlantic coast to England wintering in London. 2013 we cruised the 9 countries of the Baltic and the Netherlands wintering in London. 2014 we cruised UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Netherlands wintering in London. 2015 We cruised UK , Isle of Man, ,Ireland Guernsey and France wintering in Paris, France.  Currently Al and Sally live aboard Artemis in Paris.
