Greece | Aegean Sea | Northern Greece | Artemis anchorage May 22, 2010 Hi Everyone, We took a look at Xerxes Canal but not much there today. All that remains is marshy land where it once was. We sailed about 10 miles to a fiord like bay. We were tucked back into the island with little islands protecting the entrance. It was like being on a little lake and no other boats around. There was a house at the one end. It rained all day Friday so again we chose to stay put. It felt l

April 29, 2010 Hi everyone,
The weather continues to be sunny and warm. We left Bozburun on Monday and anchored in a beautiful anchorage, Mersincik on the northwest coast of the Datca Peninsula, south of Bodrum. We then motor sailed into the Gokova Gulf between Bodrum and Datca peninsula to a marvelous area with several excellent anchorages. The area is called Degirmen Buku and we are anchored in the all-around shelter of English Harbor surrounded by a pine forest. By the lo

March 28, 2010 Hi everyone, Happy Spring and Easter Week. Time seems to fly away from us here in Kemer Turkey as we are kept busy with boat jobs and activities. We had great fun on our Sunday hike today near Antalya. We hiked an old Roman Road and then went to a cave dwelling. We had a few sprinkles but when we got back to Kemer it was sunny and dry. The wind has picked up so it seems a bit chilly tonight. I had a "near bike loss" experience. The wind blew my bike over and wh

May 31, 2009 Hi all, Our friends Ron and Susan on "Gemini" caught up with us May 28 at Kemer Fishing Harbor (Sea of Marmara) and we are now traveling together. It's fun to have another boat to travel with. May 29 We moved on to a new unfinished harbor on Avasa Adasi (little island) We had this huge harbor all to ourselves. It looks to be about 3-4 years old and just a couple of small fishing boats are using it. Al and I walked three miles to town for fruit and bread. Then Ge

April 29, 2009 Hi all We went to Gocek on Monday and had the life raft serviced. Al and I watched as they inflated and went through all the supplies and parts. Berkant was good about explaining how everything worked and what needed to be replaced. A one year service cost 340 Euro. We decided to go with 3 year service documents for 500 Euro as we had many parts and supplies due to be updated and serviced either this year or next. He actually charged us 97 Euro less than the or
